To enable the Indian Air Force to deal with the threat of fifth-generation fighter aircraft from China and Pakistan, the United States is reportedly set to officially offer to sell F-35A fighter aircraft to India this month.
The Indian Air Force urgently needs a fifth generation fighter aircraft to deal with the threat of China's fifth generation fighter aircraft, the J-20 "Mighty Dragon" and also the J-35A that will be operated by the Pakistan Air Force early next year.
That is why India urgently needs a fifth-generation fighter aircraft to confront China and Pakistan.
Indian defense media reports state that the United States will officially offer India the F-35A fighter jet developed by Lockheed Martin this June.
According to the report, the offer of the fifth-generation F-35A fighter jet to India includes several components that are unique to India, such as the Israeli Air Force's F-35A Adir which is equipped with components developed by Israeli defense companies themselves.
Among the unique configurations for the F-35A fighter aircraft offered by the United States to India include Software Defined Radio (SDR) and Friend or Foe Identification (IFF) as equipped on the Israeli F-35A aircraft.
The F-35 “Adir” fighter jet, a special version of the F-35A Lightning II developed specifically for Israel, is considered unique due to several key features that distinguish it from the standard variant operated by other countries.
Unlike other F-35 user nations that rely mostly on US-approved software and mission systems, Israel has negotiated special access to the aircraft's core systems.
Through this access, Israel seeks to:
Installing locally made electronic warfare (EW) systems, sensors, and Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) into the aircraft.
Integrating Israeli-made weapons such as Python-5 missiles and Spice guided bombs directly into the F-35's internal weapons bay, something that is not allowed to other countries.
Using a locally-made command and control system and data link network , it enables a seamless data link network between the aircraft and Israeli air, ground and intelligence networks.
Beijing will reportedly accelerate the delivery of the fifth-generation fighter jet, the J-35A, to Pakistan to ensure that its ally in the South Asian region receives the fighter jet in the first quarter of 2026.
A report citing Pakistani Air Force official sources stated that China will further accelerate the delivery of J-35A fighter jets developed by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation Industry (SAC) to Pakistan by six months.
