Bangladesh Army Studying Procurement of Chinese-Made 155mm 52Cal Wheeled Gun System, SH-15

Defence affairs analysis
The Bangladesh Army is reportedly studying the acquisition of the SH-15 wheeled howitzer developed by the Chinese defense company, North Industries Group Corporation Limited (NORINCO).

NORINCO is one of China's state-owned defense companies that supplies various weapons systems to the Chinese Armed Forces.
Recently, a delegation of seven senior Bangladesh Army officers led by the Commanding Officer of the 7th Infantry Division Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain paid a four-day visit to China.
While in China, the delegation of senior Bangladesh Army officers was taken to see a demonstration of the SH-15 mobile artillery firing and all the equipment and components related to its logistics, including its ammunition storage solution system.
The visit to China to see a demonstration of the SH-15 mobile artillery firing was following an invitation from NORINCO and showed a change in Bangladesh's arms procurement policy towards countries such as China and Turkey.
The Bangladeshi military has also increased cooperation with Pakistan.
Recent media reports claim that Bangladesh is set to follow in Pakistan's footsteps by becoming the second country in South Asia to acquire the J-10C fighter jet developed by Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) for its air force.
